The SAS can be integrated into a wall but can function just as well in an open space. The sensetive items like AVM and reservations are held appart from the other items which are emediately ready for checkout.
The SAS is our latest development and is equiped with a modern
operating system based on a system for a machine. Thus makes it possible to combine the best of two worlds, the graphic- and network possibilities of a PC and the speed and dependability of a PLC. This also makes it possible to offer external services and backup. In addition, using the SAS is now alot eazier, where there used to be two operating systems, only one remains.
The SAS is a sorting machine that requires as little space as possible but
still offers the flexibility of a bigger sorting machine. The SAS has six
shelves and two drop boxes. The first box is meant for items that can not be handed out to customers again after checkin, like reservations or books from other departments. The second box is meant for AVM items and the remaning six shelves are devided for sorting on writer, SISO and childrens books. Shelves three and four are standard shelves inside the SAS, the shelves on the back side on the other hand can be replaced with Trolley's. The checked in romans and childrens books are thus sorted directly on the carts. As a standard, the SAS is made with two attached shelves on the back side.
You can download a file here, for the specifications of the SAS.

The random lighting on the front of the SAS is quite fun to watch.
Altough it is only possible to insert only 1 item a time, the pace of checking in is remarkebly fast.
Here u can see the AVM box and the reciept printer behind his small door.
This is a rendered drawing of the SAS.
