Using the special trolley's, the compact way of sorting and the transport
of 3 meters high, the space is still easy to overlook and to work in. And
there is room left for a hand drive and the storage of the trolley's.
The challenge in Leeuwarden was the amount of available
space we had. The intake wall had to be installed inside the
public part of the hall, but could not swallow up to much space there.
To realize this, a part of the corridor behind the wall was confiscated
to hold the bufferzone and parts of the intake stations. This corridor is
a much used space and is a direct passageway to the only non public
elevator of the building. In order not to obstruct this passageway, we
designed the machine to send the items up to nearly 3 meters high over
the corridor. The items then come into a room of 36 square meters
where they are sorted out to 12 diverent groupes. Besides that we
installed a dropbox where reservated, unknown and bookes for other
branches are droped.
We were approached by the Public Library of Leeuwarden for
information about our Corlector sorting machine, they had seen
our installation in Amsterdam and were above all else
interested in the fact that our machine can put the items on
diverent sorting shelves. But Leeuwarden wanted to go a step
further in this development by dropping the sorted items not on
shelves but directly on trolley's. We put some thought into this
idea and developed a special trolley that can be linked directly
onto the Corlector sorting modules. This way the space used
for sorting is reduced even more.
The intake of the items is done by two Self Service Stacking
Stations, of which only the intake function is activated. The
items are taken in and then buffered for an equal supply to the
Corlector sorting modules
